Akash Deep is an Indian international cricketer. He plays as a bowling all-rounder, who bowls right-arm fast-medium and bats right-handed. He represents Bengal in domestic cricket and plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL). | |
| He was born on 11 December 1996 into a middle-class family to Ramji Singh, a physical education teacher in a government school, and his wife Ladduma Devi in Baddi village of Rohtas district in Bihar, India. 1 2 | |

| His father never wanted him to become a cricketer and instead wanted him to secure a government job. In 2010, he left for Durgapur, West Bengal where his uncle worked at the Durgapur Steel Plant and joined a local academy with his cousin Baibhaw Kumar who also wanted to pursue cricket as a career. However, things changed completely when tragedy struck twice within six months which forced him out of the game for three years. First, he lost his father who was paralyzed and bed-ridden for five years before breathing his last on 12th February 2015, and then in October 2015, his elder brother Dhiraj passed away following a brief illness, leaving behind two young school-going daughters and wife.
