Tapan Kumar Dutta is the father of actresses Tanushree Dutta and Ishita Dutta. He is an Ex-employee of Life Insurance Corporation and is married to Shikha Dutta.
Tapan was born in a Bengali Kayastha Hindu family on 9th June 1950 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and he also has a brother named Barun Kumar Dutta, who is a doctor and is settled in Peterborough, England. 1
He did his schooling from Vivekananda Higher Secondary School in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand and graduated from University of Calcutta in 1970. 2
His younger daughter, Ishita Dutta got married to actor Vatsal Sheth on 28th November 2017 at ISKON Temple in Juhu, Mumbai.
His brother, Barun Kumar Dutta is married to Usha Dutta.
