Dhruv Jurel is an Indian cricketer who plays as a Wicket-keeper Batsman for Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He was born on 21 January 2001 into a Hindu Jat family in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father, Nem Singh Jurel is a Kargil war veteran and he retired in 2008 as Havaldar from the Indian Army. Dhruv Jurel also wanted to join the Indian Army before cricket became his love. 1
He has two sisters, Kavita Jurel and Neeru Kumari.
At the age of five, he underwent plastic surgery after his left foot came under a bus tyre in Agra. 2
He was studying in the eighth standard at Army Public School in Agra when he fell in love with the game of cricket during a summer camp. Although initially, he had decided to take up swimming but he was fascinated when he saw some boys playing cricket so he decided to choose cricket. 1
At the age of 14, Dhruv Jurel asked his father to buy a Kashmir willow bat costing around INR 1500-2000 for him. His father got him the bat but then he wanted a cricket kit too which his father refused. To fulfill her son’s wishes, Jurel’s mother sold off her gold chain. 2
He has played U-14, U-16 and U-19 for Uttar Pradesh.
He was the captain of India’s Under-19 team which won the 2019 Asia Cup. 3

He made his Twenty20 debut for Uttar Pradesh against Punjab in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 10 January 2021. 4
In February 2022, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 20 lakhs in the player auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League. 5
He made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh against Vidarbha in the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy on 17 February 2022 at Sultanpur. He scored 64 runs in the first innings of his debut match. 6
On 20 December 2022, Dhruv Jurel was asked to open for the Uttar Pradesh team in their Ranji Trophy match against Nagaland at Sovima and he scored 249 runs in his 6th first-class match as Uttar Pradesh defeated Nagaland by an innings and 230 runs. 7
He made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals as an Impact Player against Punjab Kings on 5 April 2023. RR needed 74 off 30 balls at the time when Jurel walked in to bat at No.8 & he almost took RR past the finish line with his unbeaten innings of 32 runs in 15 balls but eventually fell short by 5 runs. 8
