Azad Rao Khan is the son of bollywood actor Aamir Khan and his second wife Kiran Rao. He has an elder half-sister, Ira Khan and an elder half-brother, Junaid Khan from his father's first marriage to Reena Datta.
He was born on 25 November 2011 through a surrogate mother. Aamir named him "Azad" after his great-granduncle Abul Kalam Azad, who was a freedom fighter and was India's first education minister.
He is currently studing in Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai.
His parents, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced their separation via a joint statement on 3 July 2021.
