Prabhsimran Singh is an Indian cricketer who plays as a Wicketkeeper Batter for Punjab in domestic cricket and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His cousin brother Anmolpreet Singh is also a cricketer.
He was born on 10 August 2000 to Surjit Singh and his wife Jasbir Kaur in Patiala, Punjab. He also has a sister named Sanjamdeep Kaur.
His father, Surjeet Singh is a government servant and works for the Punjab Mandi Board in Patiala.
His uncle, Satvinder Pal Singh is a former Indian handball player and he wanted the family’s next generation to follow in his footsteps. Satvinder used to get furious every time he saw his son Anmolpreet and nephew Prabhsimran playing cricket.
“I never liked cricket as a sport. But destiny has something else in store. What can I say? We are a very proud family. Ab to teesra (Tejpreet Singh) bhi cricket mein achha kar raha hai (Now the third one too is doing well in cricket),” Satvinder said. 1
He studied at Sri Aurobindo International School, Patiala, Punjab and graduated from Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, Punjab.
Prabhsimran Singh and Anmolpreet Singh are known as Patiala cousins. Tejpreet Singh is a leg-spinner and he played for Punjab U-19. 1

He made his List A debut for the India Emerging Team against the Afghanistan Emerging Team in the 2018 Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup on 7 December 2018 in Colombo, Srilanka. Batting at number 6, he could score only 8 runs off 16 balls in his debut List A match. 2
In November 2018, he was bought by the Kings XI Punjab for a whopping INR 4.8 crores, while his cousin Anmolpreet Singh was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 80 lakhs in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. 3
He made his Twenty20 debut for Punjab against Madhya Pradesh in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February 2019 in Indore. Singh opened the innings for the Punjab team but was out for a duck. 4
In the 2020 IPL auction, he was bought again by the Kings XI Punjab but this time for just INR 55 lakh. 5
In February 2022, he was bought again by the Punjab Kings for INR 60 lakh in the player auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League. 6
He made his first-class debut for Punjab against Himachal Pradesh in the 2021–22 Ranji Trophy on 17 February 2022 in Delhi. He opened the innings for Punjab and scored a century (123 runs) in his debut match. 7
