Mohammed Al-Owais is a Saudi Arabian International footballer and plays as a goalkeeper for Saudi Arabia & Al-Hilal Saudi FC. He has represented Saudi Arabia national team in 41 matches prior to the start of FIFA World Cup 2022.
He was born on 10th October 1991 in Al-Hasa, Saudi Arabia.
Al-Owais began his club career in 2012 at the Saudi club Al-Shabab FC. He won the Saudi Super Cup (2014-2015) and the King's Cup (2014) with Al-Shabab. He moved to Al-Ahli SC from Al-Shabab FC in July 2017 after making a total 31 league appearances for Al-Shabab FC.
He won the best goalkeeper award in the Saudi Professional League for the 2017/18 season and was also awarded the King Salman Award for the best goalkeeper for the 2017/18 season.
Al-Owais made his first World Cup appearance in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the group stage match against Uruguay, which Saudi Arabia lost 0-1.
In January 2022, he was transferred from Al-Ahli SC to Al-Hilal Saudi FC. He played in 92 matches for Al-Ahli SC.
He won the Saudi Professional League (2021-2022) with Al-Hilal Saudi FC.

Saudi Arabia goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais played a crucial role in Saudi Arabia's 2-1 upset victory over two-time world cup champions Argentina in their opening World Cup match at Lusail Stadium on November 22, 2022 in Lusail City, Qatar. In what is being hailed as one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history Saudi Arabia, who is ranked 51st in FIFA rankings took down Argentina, ranked 3rd in the latest FIFA rankings with their inspired second-half performance. This was the first victory ever for Saudi Arabia against Argentina and also their first win at the World Cup. 31-year-old Mohammed Al-Owais made two crucial saves in the last moments of the second-half to deny an equaliser to Lionel Messi's team and was duly awarded the Player of the Match award for his goalkeeping performance. 2
