Shikha Tandon has won 146 national medals, and 36 medals in international competitions, including five gold medals.
Shikha is currently a member of USADA's science team.
In 2004 Athens Olympics, she competed in both 50m & 100m freestyle. she is the first Indian swimmer to qualify for two separate events in an Olympic swimming competition.
After competing at the Athens Olympics in 2004, she tried to qualify again for Beijing in 2008. Unfortunately, she missed the qualifying time by 0.05 of a second in the 50m freestyle.
In 2005, she held seven national swimming records. She was the first Indian woman to hold so many national records simultaneously.
She was honored with an Arjuna Award in 2005.
In 2009, she completed her dual master's degree in Biology and Biotechnology from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio. After that she joined United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) as Science Program Lead & she is the first indian to be employed at the USADA.
She was introduced to swimming because her younger brother Shobhit Tandon had Asthma and was advised to take up swimming.
