Raveena Tandon is an indian actress and producer who works mainly in hindi movies. She was born on October 26, 1974 to film director Ravi Tandon and Veena Tandon in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her name Raveena was given by combining Ravi and Veena, her father and mother's name respectively.
Film producer Rajiv Tandon is her twin brother. He was married to actress Rakhi Tandon.
Mother Veena Tandon worked as a costume designer in Pehla Nasha (1993).
She did her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu, Mumbai. After that she took admission in Mithibai College, Mumbai but dropped out of college to pursue a career as a model.
She never thought of becoming an actress and was doing internship at ad film-maker Prahlad Kakkar's Genesis PR when she got her first film offer.
Raveena made her acting debut in Patthar Ke Phool (1992) opposite Salman Khan which was a box-office success and won her Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year.
In 2001, she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in Kalpana Lajmi's "Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence". She played the role of a battered wife to an abusive husband in the movie.
In November 2005, Raveena sued Shaadi.com and Shaaditimes.com for using her pictures for their promotion without her permission.
Raveena Tandon adopted two girls, Pooja and Chaya, as a single mother in 1995 when they were 11 and 8-years-old, respectively. They were daughters of her distant cousin who had died.
Daughter Chaya Malaney got married to Goa-based Shawn Mendes in a Hindu-catholic ceremony in January 2016.
She started dating film distributor Anil Thadani during the making of her film Stumped (2003). They got married on February 22, 2004 at Jag Mandir Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Anil Thadani was earlier married to Natasha Sippy, daughter of producer Romu Sippy.
Daughter Rasha Thadani was born on March 16, 2005 and son Ranbirvardhan Thadani was born on July 12, 2007.
