Paes is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in doubles and he is a 18 Time Grand Slam Champion in Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories, 7 Time Olympian, Singles Olympic Medal Winner. He also holds the record for the most doubles wins (46) in the Davis Cup. | |
| Paes was born on June 17, 1973 to Vece Paes and Jennifer Paes in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. Both of his parents were renowned athletes. His father, Vece Paes was a Sports Medicine Doctor and was also the part of the bronze medal winning Indian hockey team at the 1972 Munich Olympics but he did not received a medal medal because he didn't played in any of the matches and his mother Jennifer Paes led the Indian basketball team in the 1980 Asian basketball championship. | |
