Sonu Walia is an indian actress and former miss india known for her roles in Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Haatim Tai (1990), Khel (1991), Tahalka (1992) and Dil Aashna Hai (1992).
Sonu Walia was born on February 19, 1964 in a punjabi family in New Delhi. Her father Major Satinder Walia was an Army Officer. She also has a sister named Monu Walia.
Her real name is Sanjeet Kaur Walia.
She won the Femina Miss India contest in 1985 and represented India in Miss Universe contest in the same year.

Sonu started her acting career with a cameo role in Shart (1986) and after that starred in cult-classic Khoon Bhari Maang (1988) as Nandini and won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in movie.
She was romantically linked with Kabir Bedi in 1988.
Sonu Walia got married to Pratap Singh, an US based hotelier in a quiet ceremony in Pune in 1995 and relocated with him to the United States. He died in 2009 due to kidney failure.
Her husband Pratap acted in and produced a few south indian movies and changed his name to Surya Pratap Singh for South Indian films.
She does not have any children but her niece, Myra Lokhande is like her daughter.
In 1997, she played the role of Maharani Chitrangada in the mythological show "Mahabharat Katha". She also acted in a TV serial "Betaal Pachisi" in the same year.
In 2022, Sonu Walia co-produced a film titled "Jogiyaa Rocks" with brother-in-law Vineet Sharma starring Rohit Bakshi, Kirti Kulhari and Suzanne Mukherjee. It's a musical love story of a small town boy, who goes on to become a rockstar.
