Gautami Tadimalla is an Indian actress, Costume Designer and Politician who starred in around 120 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada film industries to date.
Gautami was born to to Dr. T. R. Seshagiri Rao and Dr. Vasundhara Devi in Tadimalla Village, Nidadavole, Andhra Pradesh, India.
She completed her schooling from Bishop Cotton Girls' School, Bengaluru, Karnataka. Later she went to GITAM University in Visakhapatnam to pursue engineering but dropped out to follow her passion in the film industry.
She was one of the leading South Indian actresses from 1987 to 1998. Her father was a pioneering radiation oncologist and her mother was a pathologist and diagnostician.
Gautami Tadimalla got married to Sandeep Bhatia, a businessman in 1998. The couple have a daughter, Subbulakshmi who was born in 1999. They got divorced in 1999.
Gautami was in a relationship with actor Kamal Haasan from 2004 to 2016.
In 2003, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. She fought and won battle against Cancer in 2004.
She joined BJP in 1997.
In 2016, she founded the Life Again Foundation with Ms Hyma Reddy to both provide functional and compassionate support and promote existing policies to disadvantaged peoples.
