She began her acting career as a theatre artist. Bengali actor Shankar Chakraborty saw her rehearsing with her theatre group and was impressed with her acting skills. He recommended her for the Bengali television serial Manorama Jedin, where she played the role of veteran actor Asit Sen’s granddaughter. 6 | |
Aparajita was only 19 years old when she met 34-year-old Atanu Hazra during a television serial shoot where he was working as a sound engineer. The couple fell in love despite the significant age difference of 15 years and tied the knot on August 8, 1997. Aparajita’s family did not approve of their decision to get married, so they decided to marry without their consent. However, Atanu’s family immediately accepted Aparajita with open arms. 7 | |
