| Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian film actor and host who is regarded as one of the most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. He was born on October 11, 1942 to celebrated hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan & his wife, the social activist Teji Bachchan in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He also has a brother named Ajitabh Bachchan. | |
| Initially his parents wanted to name him Inquilaab, inspired by the phrase "Inquilab Zindabad" which was popularly used during the Indian independence movement. The name Amitabh was suggested to his father by poet Sumitranandan Pant. | |
